He's 81 yrs and still smiling, loves to cut up and have fun. He is well respected as a faithful husband, father, and friend to many. He is still quite active in church service, gets out with his wife of 60+ yrs and visits the sick and shut ins. He always has a good word for you, and doesn't gossip about others. I've known him all my life...he's my dad. I want very much to immulate his life and service to God. Both he and my mother have set an example that is near impossible to match. I am very blessed having parents like mom and dad. Dad, well, he is one good man. You won't find anyone who knows him to say anything other than that about him.
A well known business man passed away this week. I personally didn't know him, obviously everyone else did, or they seem to know him really intimately. They could give you details about him, so I guess they must have spent a lot of time with him. He was shrewd in business dealings, he knew how to make a buck. It's a funny thing how people view successful people, I mean, they had to have done a lot of crooked things to make the money they've got, wouldn't they? And if they can't find something, they can always run with a rumor like, my best friends first cousin's bosses neighbor said that....that's normally how the rumor goes. Like anyone who is good in business, I'm sure the man was prudent, and if people worked for him he may have been demanding, such is life. For you, me, or anyone to spread tales that may be false is abominable, childish envy, and we'll answer to the Judge of judges.
"There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and destroy. Who are you to judge another?" Jas. 4:12 (NKJV)
"The mouth of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pour forth foolishness." Prov. 15:2 (NKJV)
Someone lost a father, a husband, many folks lost a friend and leader. He was also a follower of Christ that cared for lost people to find their way, and many, many did. Judge all you want, spread all the tales you want, that's for you to answer for. But many lives were changed because of his commitment to Christ, I'll call him my brother.
My dad is an exceptional, loving man that no one can say anything evil of if they're telling the truth, but someone would. This other man was blessed by much wealth and fame, so its automatic, someone will say bad things about him. But for me and you, we want to stay clear of gossip and rumors, see the good in others, and stay clean and sober. Farewell Lawrence, tell them I'll be there, we all will soon. God bless and keep you all, thanks for reading, Keith.
