I am very grateful for all of you who have been reading my posts for the past 6 months. The day I published my first blog, I thought, who will bother? I thought a few may read the page curious about what I had to say, and maybe this blog would give them an idea of what my book may be like, but that would be a handful only. In a weeks time I was surprised to see the numbers, and they continue to grow. So to you, thanks so much!
The news on the book is that the publisher is working on the cover design this month, next month layout begins, and then to print. I hope to have copies in June, although the announcement date will be in August. I would sincerely appreciate your prayers, it has been a very bad extremely marvelous year. I have seen many of you at the store, or at church, events, etc, and you have gracefully commented about my posts, some have said the blogs have helped them spiritually, or a family member with their sobriety. That's what it's all about. Ultimately, to be a help and bring honor to God. However, someone else took notice as well. Anytime you do something that brings glory to God, or magnifies the name of Jesus, there will be opposition. There has been, is some very diabolical ways.
I cannot say the extent of my writing a blog about the believer's conduct, growth, and spiritual fitness, is in any way close to the writings and the struggles of Paul or the disciples, or any of the great men and women in all of Christendom throughout history. Like them, however, I know that we all fight a battle that is not of this realm. We fight a battle with an unseen enemy, who is skillful in his pursuit of God's own beloved. He badgers us with thoughts of inadequacies, past sins, and of future fears we will face...none of which are true. He come as an angel of light, dropping little hints in our ears that, that's not wrong, everyone does it, and many other tricks he's learned over the milleniums. He knows his time is short and so he works constantly, especially if you work for God. The news is...greater is He that is in me than he that's in the world.
God is greater than the enemy. He gave us authority through Jesus name to defeat ole scratch's efforts. Like Jesus, when tempted by the morbid one said, "it is written"....so we have the same writ that don't quit!
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for
pulling down strongholds." 1Cor.10:4 (NKJV)
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Eph.6:12 (NKJV)
So we fight, we perservere in this battle, and I thank each of you for supporting my efforts. Many times I thought that no one really was paying attention, and maybe I would hang it up for a while. Yet, as I thought those things, I realized that I am doing that for me when I copped an attitude like that. I doesn't matter if I get "likes" or no one comments on Facebook, or if nobody tweets me. If one person gets something out of the post, I go on and keep fighting. None of that said for comments, mind you, just the plain old truth.
Finally, I want to say that I do plan to enhance the sight with a video page, and a shopping page through Amazon, which will provide a few bucks to help me expand this effort by adding sites. As far as the blogs go, I want to continue with the sobriety/ spirituality mix, but also get on some of the events going on in the nation and world...they do relate. I'm entirely fed up with much going on in the world, but I am zealously miffed at the state of our nation, so stay tuned, I'll try not to be too radical. If there is anything you want me to blog on, message me, I'll keep it our secret if you want to maintain your anonymity. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or email@example.com. I will try to keep the posts up to at least 3 times per week. And thanks again!
