I want to say thanks for all of you that have been reading these blogs. So many people have said they enjoy reading them and sometimes I'm shocked at who enjoys them. My original aim was to get those followers of Christ that struggle with some sort of addiction (all of us), or those whose struggle is over but want to work on their spiritual fitness and maturity. I am grateful, and because of your kind thoughts, I keep going. Now, if each one of you would send me $1000.00....just kidding.
Seriously folks, I try to put in research into these writings and sometimes the research is painful. I have spent a good portion of this weekend watching Christian TV...oh my, It's gotten worse. I don't want to offend you, dear readers, but I'm shocked at much of what I viewed. I know there are many wonderful guys and gals out there, who really deliver the gospel message. But there are several that really ought to be put under a prison! I mean what gimmicks!
" I have a word from god that there are a dozen people out there that god is going to send them their super-double-back-flip-devil-slicin' breakthrough. God is waiting on you to obey...write that check payable to @#$!%ministries, then god will move on your behalf!" This is exaggerated, a wee bit, but they are really out there! One half hr of TV time, 5 minutes of speaking, 25 mins. of offerings. Turn these phonies off! They are exploiting people, mainly the elderly and the undereducated, draining the very food off of their tables, and without shame. They appeal to these folks to give them a guilty complex for watching and not giving, and say things like, "if you don't give, we will have to go off of the air." Well, GO OFF THE AIR! Do God a favor, quit bringing reproach to His reputation, and making the good men on the air look bad too. If God called you to do that "ministry," he will see it through, won't He? You act idiotic, saying one minute, God can do anything, and then begging for a hand-out the next. Imposters! Saying for folks to plant money in your ministry as seed, and god will repay them 100x. That is a harvest I want to stay away from. I don't want its produce. God rewards the giver who is a good steward, not the fool with His money. That's right, His money, all of the money in your pocket is God's, not yours. You may have worked for it, but He gave you the strength to earn it. It may be your job, but He pulled the strings to get you into that position. It would be better to watch dancing with the stars, or taking the money out to the trash and burning it.
" Evil people and imposters will become worse, deceiving and being deceived." 2 Tim.3:13 (HSB)
..."and men whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to
material gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Tim.6:5-6 (HSB)
I want to add that if you have elderly parents and grandparents that don't mind telling you their giving habits, be sure they aren't giving to some deceiver. We have so many scam artists as it is, telemarketing fortunes away from the elderly. May God shed light on these imposters, so all will know. I am grieved that they do these things in the name of Christ, but that is how the enemy works, making counterfeit "ministers," to take what is Gods, and wasting it on iniquity. Just beware. God will have the final say, and those reputable men that are truly doing Gods work, will continue. And they do need your financial support, you will indentify them by the time they take on air, (paid for by you, the viewer), to ask for even more, or say little about it even when they're in dire straights. Thanks for reading, God bless and keep you all, Keith
